Why it’s Good
Superior form of vitamin B12: methylcobalamin
Suitable for vegans and the most bio-available form of Vitamin B12. Research has shown that methylcobalamin remains in the body for a longer period of time and at higher levels than cyanocobalamin – the synthetic version of B12 made in a lab, which means that your body is supplied with vitamin B12 for longer.
Made in the UK
This product doesn’t contain cyanocobalamin, the cheapest and most commonly used version of vitamin B12 which is made in the presence of a cyanide molecule. While the amount of cyanide present in it isn’t dangerous, the body has to use more energy to convert it to a usable form of vitamin B12 and remove the cyanide molecule from the system.

Our Honest Opinion
There is good research showing that vitamin B12 helps with the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin B12 is needed for the production of ATP, an essential molecule required for energy production. It may also help with methylation, a process used to control the replication of DNA in the body. There is significant research showing that B12 deficiency can lead to anaemia. Further research suggests that the prevalence of vitamin B12 deficiency might be greater than initially thought, especially in vegetarians and vegans, the elderly and young adults.
A lack of vitamin B12 can cause anaemia
Vitamin B12 is needed to make red blood cells, which carry oxygen to all parts of your body. If you’re deficient in B12, you may not make enough of these red blood cells, which means your tissues and organs won’t get enough oxygen. This is called vitamin B12 deficiency anaemia, or megaloblastic anaemia. It has been shown that taking vitamin B12 supplements may help overcome this type of anaemia. As vitamin B12 is really only found in foods from animal sources, people on vegan diets benefit from vitamin B12 supplementation.
Vitamin B12 is needed for the production of ATP
Vitamin B12 is needed for the production of ATP, an essential molecule required for energy production, the absence of which may lead to tiredness and fatigue. A process called methylation, by which the body stabilises free radicals and removes toxins is important for protecting the brain. By supplementing methylcobalamin, the body is able to produce energy and remove toxins efficiently.
Vitamin B12 lowers homocysteine
Increased homocysteine levels in the blood are associated with blood vessel damage, which can lead to high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke. Aside from this too much homocysteine can negatively impact cell health, which is linked to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Studies have shown that vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin is necessary for the conversion of homocysteine to methionine.
Vitamin B12 supplementation is needed for people suffering from kidney disease
Your kidneys are involved in absorbing B12 and other vitamins, which prevents these nutrients from escaping via urination. Diseased and malfunctioning kidneys absorb poorly and contribute to vitamin deficiencies.
