Why it’s Good
A natural blend of digestive enzymes
Unlike most enzymes, our Digestive Enzyme formula is made from plant-based sources. It contains the enzymes our bodies need to digest carbohydrates, proteins and fats. This helps to ensure food is digested, well absorbed and does not end up fermenting in the gut, which can relieve uncomfortable symptoms of indigestion, bloating, constipation and diarrhoea.
5 enzymatic strains
Humans can’t manufacture the enzyme cellulase, which is needed to digest certain types of fibre found in the cell walls of plants. This means we have to rely on the helpful bacteria in our large intestine to do the job for us – but with levels of bacteria affected by diet and lifestyle, they aren’t always at optimal levels. Our formulation contains cellulase to give your gut bacteria a helping hand.

Our Honest Opinion
Conditions that affect the body’s ability to manufacture digestive enzymes (such as Crohn’s disease or lactose intolerance) make the body less able to absorb certain nutrients, leading to symptoms such as bloating, gas and abdominal pain. Age can also affect the production of digestive enzymes, which means foods are less well absorbed. In these cases, digestive enzymes can boost digestive comfort and improve absorption.
Digestive enzymes help us break down and absorb nutrients from food
As part of the normal digestive process our bodies manufacture a range of digestive enzymes that break down the food that we eat into easily absorbed pieces. Without a sufficient supply of enzymes – which may be a genetic problem or the result of a condition affecting the pancreas or small intestine – nutrients can go unabsorbed, triggering symptoms like gas and bloating.
Digestive enzymes support improved digestive comfort
As we age we secrete fewer digestive enzymes, which can result in digestive symptoms. A recent study found that healthy individuals experienced greater digestive comfort after including supplemental digestive enzymes in their diets. Regardless of whether the enzymes are produced naturally or added as a supplement, the results are the same.
Insufficient enzymes can lead to slow transit time and poor absorption
Many of our digestive enzymes are made in the pancreas. But inefficiency by the pancreas can lead to our digestive system slowing down and nutrients being poorly absorbed. Conditions such as small intestinal overgrowth (SIBO) can develop if the pancreas makes insufficient enzymes for digestion. This often causes bloating, gas, fatigue and constipation. It has also been linked to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
